The challenge
Our global financial services client struggled with rolling out GitHub Copilot to their entire engineering population. Without full-scale adoption, they struggled to ensure that messaging on safe and efficient AI use was fully aligned with the organisational strategy and internal initiatives.
Our solution
We provided our client with five concise customised learning modules, which all engineering staff would take upon receiving a GitHub Copilot license. This would ensure that foundational Copilot usage is standardised across a population of thousands. Afterwards, participants also completed live sessions.
Delivery
After completing the prerequisite learning modules, participants join an interactive, hands-on, 90-minute lab. Here, they explore GitHub Copilot’s features, understand its limitations, and learn best practices for its use. The live session enables participants to apply their learning, ensuring that the entire engineering team could maximise the potential of their GitHub Copilot licenses.
The learning module also raised awareness of the risks associated with using AI tools in the development process and provided strategies to mitigate these risks.
Programme outcomes
Participants left with greater confidence in using GitHub Copilot thanks to practical sessions with instructors. By addressing barriers to adoption early, the organisation enhanced its software development capabilities and productivity.
