Our client is an insurance technology company with a significant presence in Dublin. A significant challenge for the company was that their technology leaders had very little exposure to generative AI (GenAI), other than ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. Neither of these tools are built for developers.
While leaders did know of other tools that were aimed at developers, they had not used them or seen them in action. They also did not know about the risks and challenges associated with using these tools.
We designed and delivered a one-day training programme that provided an overview of the GenAI landscape for software engineering tools, covering tools across all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC). The training also went into some detail about how developers can use the GitHub Copilot tool.
We also included a practical exercise component, where leaders got hands-on experience using these tools.
The course also covered metrics such as how useful the tools actually are, how to roll the tools out effectively to teams, and how to address the risks of using these tools.
Our learning solution was delivered in a virtual environment over two consecutive half-days.
The training generated and facilitated discussion around how these tools could be effectively rolled out within the company. These conversations will result in concrete decisions being made within the company as to what the next steps should be for their technical teams when it comes to rolling out GenAI tooling.
