About the role

Our Professional & Workplace Skills practice operates alongside our Technology and our Digital Learning practices, focussing on the leadership capabilities and unlocking the mindsets and behaviours that drive change and deliver business excellence. We deliver impactful and ambitious leadership initiatives, executive education offerings, women-in-technology and distinguished engineer programs.

With the continued success of the practice, we want to appoint an experienced professional to drive its next growth phase, engaging with clients, developing our service offering, partnering with our sales and marketing teams, and expanding our team of instructors, coaches and consultants.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a skilled leader, and a seasoned consultant with extensive commercial experience and a record of delivering exceptional results.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide strong leadership to the training and consulting team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Mentor and develop team members, ensuring continuous growth and skill enhancement.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and professionalism.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the practice, aligning with the overall business objectives.
  • Identify market trends, opportunities, and potential risks to inform strategic decision-making.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring the delivery of high-quality training and consulting services.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering insights and solutions to address their business challenges.

Business Development:

  • Drive business development efforts to acquire new clients and expand relationships with existing clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create compelling proposals and presentations.

Project Delivery and Quality Assurance:

  • Oversee the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to uphold the highest standards of service.

Financial Management:

  • Manage the financial performance of the practice, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimisation.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the practice, leveraging feedback and insights to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferably in engineering, science, finance or related field; advanced degree or MBA is advantageous
  • Proven experience in a consulting role, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Europe, and to Asia and North America.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and business development.
  • Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and drive financial performance.
  • Possess a keen sense of commercial awareness, demonstrating a deep understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to strategically contribute to our organisation’s growth and success.
  • Have demonstrable knowledge or a passion for developing people.
  • Goal orientated – maintains focus on agreed objectives and deliverables.
