Accelerating Leadership Development with a Blended Learning Programme

We designed a management programme for Fidelity Investment to accelerate employee progression into first line management roles, helping learners build connections with managers, attain new skills, and apply their skills in a leadership capacity.

The challenge

For individuals to excel in first-time manager roles, they require support. Fidelity Management, a large financial services organisation, recognised that although it had many aspiring and new-in-role managers, the organisation lacked a tailored management development programme to support new managers with relevant skills development and coaching.

Our solution

We designed a 3-month, blended management development programme for Fidelity Management, which included learning across six key leadership topics:

• Managing in your Organisation​

• Developing High Performing Teams

• Managing Through Change

• Managing Performance

• Creating a Coaching Culture

• Communicating with Impact as a Manager

Other key components of the programme included pre-work for each session, self-study throughout the programme, a business challenge that was undertaken from start to finish, as well as three individual coaching sessions for each participant.

Delivery

In the years this management development programme has been active, we have delivered the learning across in-person, virtual, and hybrid methods. Whatever the delivery method, we designed all the sessions to be interactive and allow for practical elements to shine through.

Results

We have a lasting relationship with Fidelity Investment, and have been delivering this leadership programme now for over 6 years, with a total of 500+ participants attending the sessions. The training has enabled employees to progress further in their careers within Fidelity Mangement with confidence in their skills.
